The Canmore Museum & Geoscience Centre is dedicated to telling the stories of our mountains and our communities for present and future generations. Permanent displays about Canmore’s mining heritage, as well as the geology of the Rocky Mountains. Temporary displays change regularly.
GST-free Gift Shop specializes in books about the region, educational and heritage toys, local art, fossils and minerals, and more. The Museum also oversees the operation of the North West Mounted Police Barracks, a designated Provincial Historic Resource, at 609 Main Street.
